Our Story
HOW WE MET | HIS PERSPECTIVE
I was sitting in our dining hall at school one day in early January. I was at a table with some of my friends and over to my right was a table with some more friends. As I was eating my burrito from Sparkies Cantina, the most beautiful girl in the world walked over to the table with my friends to the right. I had a quick moment to decide what my next move would be. I could either walk over to her and try my best to win her over with some smooth talk or just put my head down and keep eating my burrito. And you guessed it, I just kept eating the burrito. The next night I was in a study room in our library at school. It was about 11 pm and it was getting to the point where not much studying was being done. One of my friends said, "Hey do you have a girlfriend?". I told him I did not and then he asked me if he could set me up with a girl. I had to ask for a picture of course just to make sure. Sure enough, he pulled out his phone and there was the beautiful girl from the dining hall Ms. Danielle Biggerstaff. He gave me her number and three days later I took her out to dinner and the rest is history.
HOW WE MET | HER PERSPECTIVE
Throughout my time at Liberty, I have always tried to play matchmaker. Whether I was trying to set up my close friends or people on my hall, I loved trying to place people together and see if they could work in a relationship (some of you can testify to this). However, one day in early January of my sophomore year, I was talking to some of my guy friends on the hall about actually setting me up on a date. After a couple of minutes of thinking on it, they had someone come to mind... a country boy named Trevor Glisson who loves the Lord and loves to hunt. After showing me who he was and telling me a little about the guy, I was instantly sold. I got a text from him a couple days later asking if I would be interested in getting dinner with him later in the week. Of course my answer was yes and so plans were arranged for later in the week. However, little did I know that this boy was a little rough with communicating and did not update me or text me whatsoever until he said "here" to pick me up that Thursday night. After three hours of endless talking and getting to know one another, I knew Trevor would be the one that I was gonna love forever. And now, here we are 2 years later telling our story on our wedding website. The Lord is SO good!
HOW HE ASKED
I, Trevor, started my residency at Thomas Road Baptist Church on Monday August 1st, 2023. I knew that Danielle would be home in Spartanburg for the week. I knew she wanted a surprise, so I had a large web of plans put together. I had my boss at work send me a long email of our daily schedule the first few days of work, one of which was dinner with a group of church staff on Friday night August 4th. I had Danielle's mom and best friend (Kate) organize a "girls' night out" with Danielle, her mom (Sondra), Kate, and Kate's mom. The first stop on "girls night out" was to take a look at the new property Danielle's family got. Little did Danielle know that as her dad showed the group their property that I would be sitting there waiting for her. As she rounded a corner and saw me she instantly knew what was happening. I walked her down to the river and asked her to be my wife (the second-best decision iv ever made other than trusting in Christ as my Lord and Savior) and by the grace of God she said yes!
